Where are you from?I was born in Sydney, moved around alot, then from age 7 I grew up in Wollongong. GO the GONG!!!
How long have you been djing/producing? I always wanted to dj, but was
always busy doing everything else 'behind the scenes', graphic design,
decor, visuals, door bitch etc. I started practising in December 2005, with
the mission of playing out for the first time in February 2006. I thought
that if my name was on the flyer I could not back out (I suffer a bit from
stage fright). So I practiced everyday and two months later I played out.
Needless to say I am hooked. As far as producing goes so far I have mainly
created loops and used them in conjunction with my dj sets, but I have a few
things I am working on with Vic which will be released shortly.
What influenced you the most to start? Honestly I think it was the birth of our son and the fact that life is too short. I thought to myself if I really want to do this I need to face my fear and just get on with it.
What did you do before you started djing? Promoting SWARM, doing all the graphics, visuals, decor etc, plus running my fashion label. I have always done creative things, school band, art class, community art projects. I see djing as simply another way to be creative.
Which artists are you most influenced and inspired by? I am inspired by all the djs/producers around me. I think the standard at SWARM is world class. Special mention will of course have to go to my partner in crime - Vic, I have seen the evolution of his sound and production, I love Null Object and his pure glitchness. There were a few of his sets that left me speechless and wobbling at the knees. Chris Liberator for his innate ability to rock any party. In terms of my sets and which sound I play, I like to combine dirty electro, disco elements and loop based techno with a good groove as well as a bit of ghetto/booty flavour for good measure. I love Dj Reversive, Urban, DJ Ze MigL, Sinisa Tamomovic, Gabriel Ananda, Sebastian Leger, Gayle San, Ignition Technician, *cutz, Elton D, D.A.V.E the Drummer, Cave ..... the list could go on and on.
Tell us something random that not many people know about you. I am a recovering ebay freak, there was a period a few years ago when I was receiving a package every single week day!!
